Don't you wanna dive on in, yeah the water feels right
Dancin' on the edge of the love you're a beautiful sight
So why're you still standin' there in the half moonlight
Come on, baby, give me a little more you
You're battin' those baby blue eyes and, honey I swear
The way you got me needing you boy, it just ain't fair
You've given me a little bit yeah, but don't stop there
Come on, baby, give me a little more you...
By the way, if I comment you, it'll come up as ANTIwinterrr :o)

Overpriced Nonsense
Why does Nordstrom only have items that are $500??? If that's the case, why allow people to buy $50 gift cards? Why not have a minimum amount of $500 required to buy a gift card? Really though.

I need YOUR help!
Hello fellow bloggers!
While I really have no idea who reads this silly blog of mine that I sadly neglect more often than I should, I have something really important to me that I'd like to share and I hope people take interest in it!
On Sunday, June 13th, I am walking 7 miles in NSTAR's Walk for Children's Hospital Boston on behalf of my team at Marriott. Why am I walking 7 miles? When the sickest of kids need the best healthcare in the world, they come to Children's Hospital Boston. Children's is an amazing place where the doctors and nurses are compassionate, creative, and committed to saving kid's lives. Children's has been ranked nationally as one of the best pediatric hospitals for almost two decades. They care for more than 500,000 patients every year - many with health problems no other hospital in the world can handle.
Marriott asked that we raise $150 for our walk. I said, why stop there? I am hoping to raise over $500 to support Children's Hospital's life-changing care and world-changing research. Your donation to this cause gives sick kids a chance to live the life they deserve. While even a $5 donation seems like it would not make a difference, multiply that by how many friends can participate and you can see the difference your donation can make. I am already half way to my goal, and am asking everyone's help to keep pushing forward!
Should you wish to donate to support my Walk for Children's Hospital Boston, please click the below link which will direct you to my personal fundraising page. I very much appreciate your support, and look forward to representing Marriott, my family and my friends on June 13th.

I say it's love...
...Alisha just called me. WE'RE GOING TO SEE SUGARLAND IN MAYYY!!! YESSSSSS! I thought the concert was sold out so I didn't bother to look into tickets. So pumped! What a great day.
JOSH CAME HOME TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg finally!! That seemed like the longest week long cruise of my life! I missed you so much babe! :) Life is back in order<3
Last night Jess and I found ourselves at Patriot Place for a few too many icy beverages, and next thing I know, I'm home back at Jess' apartment creeping the Patriots roster. Why you ask? Well, we hung out with 4 guys for a majority of the night who were being so shady saying they were all in town for a Plumbers Convention- turns out they're all Patriots players. AND- I told them they were a joke and I didn't want to hang out with them anymore, so I went to hang w/ my guy friends on the other side of the bar.
WAY TO GO, JEN. Jess later asked them what their shady deal was, and they were like "ok ok we play for the Pats but DON'T SAY ANYTHING we don't want a scene." And surer than shit, it was confirmed via the Patriots 2010 roster. Wahoo. They live in Jess' apt complex though and we will attempt to hang with them again next time I go to visit her. YAY
Today was massive basement overhaul post flooding. I have never thrown away so much shit in my life, and we're only about 45% done. OH MY GOD. It's gonna cost like $600 to have all this stuff hauled away. It's about time we did this! My achin' back. lol
Prior to the basement cleanup, I laid out on the deck with my book and got TAN LINES. What a freakin' gorgeous day. Who could ask for anything better than 70 and sunny in March?! So sunkisseddd<3 Also bought some gorgeous orange tulips today to celebrate the first day of spring!
Round 2 down in the basement tomorrow so I stayed in tonight to rest up. Oh well. anddd it's always on the nights I decide I'm to beat to go out that people start coming out of the wood work and want to get wild! :(
Time to On Demand a movie and snug in bed w/ some wine :o)
Adios! xo

Title?
Day 6.
So last night was an Irish filled evening @ Homeplate. Green mardi gras beads, green beer, irish tunes, Celtics, good friends. Good night :-) The old Jen has emerged!
Went back to work this morning to find all kinds of Post-Its and treats and ppl even filled my candy jar w/ Kit Kats! I feel so loved in that office, I really do. "Feel better Jen!" "We miss you!!!" ...I was out ONE day! They rock.
Having 100 emails in my inbox to come back to tho? Didn't rock. But I made it through the day!
Nana got moved to a cute lil old person rehab center to continue her physical therapy before she moves back home. It's like a freaking hotel in that place! The rooms are huge and so nice, they have all kinds of activities, the nurses rock. I think she'll have fun while she's there. Happy it turned out that way!
Time for a mani and pedi before bed! I can't believe tomorrow is Friday already! wahoo!! and nice weather all week at that? Incredible. Going to a Barstool event in Boston after work tomorrow around Fenway with the boyssss. YAY! Things could get weird. 8-)

Another shot of whiskey, can't stop lookin' at the door...

Day 4. Tomorrow? Hump day. :-) <3
So the town I live in is next to this other town that I live next to, and in the middle of our towns is the XYZ River. Now generally, the XYZ River is disgusting and no one even thinks anything of it's existance. Until today. Driving down the main drag in my town to go visit Nana in the hospital (she had her hip replaced a few weeks ago) and to then proceed to my gym, I approached a flashing sign stating that the road was closed up ahead and we should seek an alternate route. The other drivers and I looked at each other in our cars and kept on going! A few miles down the road, I discovered a brand new lake that I never knew existed in Massachusetts. This lake was actually what had become of the street I was driving on.
I had seen all the flooding in Waltham and Quincy and other areas of MA, but had no idea the severity of the XYZ River overflowing! Jeesh. So myself and about 50 other cars did 9 point turns and headed back home.
Sorry Nana, gym. Guess I'll be seeing you tomorrow!
Today at work, I had an epiphany. I am already bored with my new job. Don't get me wrong, I love it. But once I master something, I can't do it any longer. I constantly need challenges and new goals and new heights to reach. I don't want to continue this mastered path I'm on, or I worry I will begin to resent going to work everyday. In my office, I conduct all Transient Business for Marriott hotels throughout the entire North East. There is only so much to transient business. Today I hand delivered the phone number of an angry customer who was planning an event at a certain hotel and hadn't received a call back from his sales manager after leaving a few messages. I asked the event sales manager chica to show me what she does. HOW FUN. I think I'd be better off on the other side of our office booking events and weddings and meetings. Similar to what we did at my old Newport hotel back in the day. Not just negotiating corporate rates for my whole life. More to come.
Tomorrow night post work is dinner in Boston w/ the owner of my old hotel and our director of sales. Woot woot. If I'm good at one thing, it's keeping in touch with people. Looking forward to some Stoli Doli martinis ;-)
I secretly wish I auditioned for American Idol. Shoot. My secret's out...

Floating through my day in my kayak...
I wanna write you a letter
I wanna write you a book
I wanna see your reaction
I wanna see how it looks...
Day 3
My God, stop raining! This morning my umbrella nearly flew out of my hands at lightning speed and almost hit someone in the face. Nice.
Both of my managers went home sick from work today so I was a Business Transient one-woman-show. No problemo. ;-)
Wore my new dress to work and got so many compliments! yay.
I think I deserve to skip the gym tonight since I've gone every other night in this pouring rain. TV in bed couldn't sound better!

Wash out!
So much for doing anything tonight- our downstairs is flooding. Andd it has been since 8pm? It's now 11:33 and we've pretty much got in under control. This rain really needs to stop. I can only wet vac and mop and break my back so much!!! My poor parents.
On the bright side, I've learned how to use hydrolic cement so when my own house someday floods, I can outshine my husband and fix everything! :o)
Let the rain fall down, and wake my dreams...
Day 2.
The weekend with Caroline was great.
Got some new dresses for work at the mall, and the cutest new stilettoos <3 Dad's birthday was yesterday and cake is God. Seeing baby Joey makes everything better.
Drinks at the Forge with Colb and KO turned into cub hunting- what's the deal with the older crowd there? But yay new friends!
Game night tonight at Kev's if this monsoon doesn't eat me. I feel like it will never stop raining!

Hot mess.
Today my boss had a meeting with me to tell me how phenomenal I am doing and that she wants me on her team forever. And if I don't like her team (department), she'll do whatever I need to put me where I want to be in the office.
MONEYY!!!!!!!!!!!
That's the jist of that. Good. Then went to the gym for 2 hours and killed myself. So beat!
Just found some sweet apartments right near my work that I'm looking into. Yay.
Overall? A good day. Hopefully the sun keeps shining tomorrow which will distract me from the fact that Josh is leaving for his vacation tomorrow and I won't have my boy to talk to until NEXT Saturday :-( <3
Time for some work I brought home from the office and beddddd.

Gretchen Inspired Project, or, why I started showing up to work on time, paying my bills, and stopped telling my boyfriend to wear a coat...
Greetings fellow bloggers!
So I have been MIA for a few months now and while I'd love to blame that on the fact that my laptop broke and I just got a new one today, but I have to say that it really is due to the fact that I started a new job in January that has just consumed my life and I love it. No more Courtyard Marriott front office, hellooo Marriott International Global Sales Team! ...and HELLO BANKER'S HOURS! :)
Anywho, enough boring stuff. So I recently found a new book, "The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin. This woman basically wakes up one day and realizes that she'll someday be dead and she wants to maximize her happiness.
"A 'happiness project' is an approach to changing your life. First is the preparation stage, when you identify what brings you joy, satisfaction, and engagement, and also what brings you guilt, anger, boredom, and remorse. Second is the making of resolutions, when you identify the concrete actions that will boost your happiness. Then comes the interesting part: keeping your resolutions."
Each month she tackled a new set of resolutions. Each resolution is assigned to one of the 12 months of the year. At the end of the month's section, she tells what she learned from trying that particular resolution, what it was like trying to do it, and how she felt when she accomplished or failed at doing so.
Gretchen's book has put a smile on my face whenever I lose myself in her project. This has inspired me to do the same. I have been searching at book stores and Target and all the likely places that one might find a neat looking journal or diary to write in. After searching to find what seemed like the impossible, I thought, "why not write it in my blog?" This way others can follow my progress, and my control-freak self won't be worrying about my penmanship har har.
Thus, I must identify and then create my list of resolutions. Things that I want to focus on or change about my perspective on life and the way I live everyday.
What brings me joy, satisfaction, and engagement?
-Sunshine
-Spending time with Josh, my friends, my family
-Being praised at work (or just in general)
-A great dinner and glass of wine
-Learning new tasks at work
-A clean room, house, or car
-Having my bills all paid on time
-Sitting around chatting w/ friends
-Being able to get a coffee before work in the morning
What brings me guilt, anger, boredom, and remorse?
-Not paying my bills on time and facing the consequences of not doing so
-Not having challenging tasks at work
-Being late to work or social gatherings
-Crummy weather
-Nit picking and arguing with Josh
-Traffic
"THE TWELVE COMMANDMENTS" (some taken from Gretchen's own list)
1.) Don't be late.
2.) Be responsible/do what ought to be done.
3.) Lighten up.
4.) Be boot camp perfect.
5.) Pay more attention.
6.) Pursue a passion.
7.) Boost energy.
8.) Aim higher at work.
9.) Remember love.
10.) Be serious about play.
11.) Make time for friendship.
12.) Put family first.
They say the hardest part about starting a project is just that: STARTING it. So this is me starting. Attempting to begin something great that I think will produce great effects if enough effort is focused on it.
More to come tomorrow- I'm starting up on #7 tonight: boosting energy by going to bed an hour earlier than normal 8-)
